During Parent-Teacher Conferences, many parents asked for guidance in selecting books that their children will enjoy reading. I have compiled a short list of links to help parents navigate the tricky waters of mid-grade readers. Some topics may be too adult for your child. Some books may not appeal to your child. Please use this list as starting point. Local libraries are an excellent place to visit as well! I will continue to compile resources that I feel provide a broad range of book titles and I will update this document as much as possible.
THINK! Don't forget your device - tomorrow is BYOT!!
Because we are only here on Monday and Tuesday of next week, there will be no word list. We will continue reading through our current issue of StoryWorks and do some fun activities along the way. We will have our second BYOT day on Tuesday, so don't forget those devices if you're interested. Enjoy the weekend!
I've decided to focus my small amount of tech time to building up our class webspage before I tackle the grade-level site. Therefore, you'll notice the new "Academics" page on our site. I will do my best to add as much as possible to this page in the coming weeks. Please let me know if there is something you'd like to see added - I'll do my best to get it posted!
Lesson 8 is all about the C-le syllable. I have attached the list for this week below!
We have transitioned back to Social Studies and we are currently learning all about how life was for the colonists in the thirteen original colonies. Our Chapter 6 Test will be on Wednesday, November 15. I have attached the Study Guide answer key in case anyone is ready to get a head start on preparing!
